Product/Mechanical Design Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Product/Mechanical Design Engineer role is to become a key member of our highly skilled engineering team responsible for all aspects of mechanical and physical design of our state-of-the-art LED lighting products.

Our products cover many industries from Marine lighting to high-end residential, hotel and commercial lighting. You will be involved in the physical design of our world leading products covering aesthetics, injection moldings, turned and machined parts, castings, IP sealing, assembly of the products, as well as prototyping and 3D printing of concepts and ideas.

Ideal candidates should:
• Hold a degree in a suitable discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years of industrial experience,
• Have a good working knowledge of design for manufacture and value/performance engineering is imperative as OceanLED’s products cover exceptional performance and quality with a keen focus on cost,
• Be a team player as the design approach of OceanLED covers close work within a team of multi-disciplinary engineers covering many aspects of design and development plus production,
• Be able to work unsupervised and be self motivated as at times the role demands decisions to be made,
• Have good working knowledge and experience of designing in 3D CAD using SolidWorks.

Applicants from the design side of industries such as professional lighting, Maritime, Military & Automotive industries would be ideal.
